Hassles.

I recently started college, studying psychology what amazed me was this course I took about the stressors in our everyday lives no matter how big or small. Our stress can be caused from something not going the way we intended it to, to even bigger issues like not meeting quotas at work.
Upon working through the course I realized that as humans we stress way to much over things that we shouldn't and that stress is a leading cause of mental illness, panic attacks and the most common is anxiety.
I myself suffer from anxiety. It is a big obstacle that can lead to big stressors over simple things.
Now, I know that there are many things in this life to stress about but imagine if we all took the time out and used techniques to help manage our stress. I.e. Woman use bubble baths to "wash away" the stress. some men use exercise as a way to "sweat it out".
Though, there are more effective methods that we can take like breathing techniques and management of our schedules. Penciling in some "alone" time can help with whatever hectic schedule you have. As for the small stressors, If you feel like you are going to pull your hair out because something take a step back and laugh about it. As we all know laughing is healthy for us.
Also, I wanted to mentioned one of the other students in the course mentioned that they thought that stress was apart of our genetic makeup and as we grow up and realize the complicated things around us that this factor kicks In.  By the way it seems I have to agree with them can we think of a time when we first started stressing out. Might have been in our pre teen stages when middle school rolled around and we were concerned with making friends and fitting in and the guys worrying if their crush liked them. This was also the time when what grades we made really started to matter and things seemed to get worse and worse and the responsibilities kicked in. We then realized that we were not these small carefree kids anymore but really young "almost" adults, with descions of our own to make.
In a scientific perspective- Stress really boils down to the biological and environment influences that peg us each and everyday.

So my advice next time the stress gets to be too much, relax don't over do things and find a distraction from the current obstacle that causes the stress.

Thanks
Maddy
